Jake marks successful start to life as Seamans’ Commercial Manager

Seamans’ new Commercial Manager, Jake Waggott, said he is loving life in the business after marking his first few months in post.

Jake joined the team in October 2025, having risen the ranks to Senior Quantity Surveyor at another local contractor since leaving sixth form in 2009.

Jake has got stuck into life at Seamans since taking on the position and has played a key role in several projects to date.

“It’s been really good,” he said. “Seamans is a great company with great people, and some really interesting projects to be a part of.

“There’s a nice balance to the types of work we do and some exciting times ahead.”

Projects Jake has been involved in so far include two jobs at local schools, alongside a commercial warehouse build – with a new project at the University of Suffolk also on the horizon.

“It’s exciting,” he added. “It has been a nice change, taking on new work with some new and not-so-new faces. It’s a small world!

“I really enjoy the commercial side, following the whole process from start to finish.

“Depending on the number of live projects I have on, I get a great balance of being on-site and being in the office, which is something I really enjoy about the role.”

Adam Cummings, our Commercial Director, added: “When Jake first accepted the role, I was delighted to have him on board, and the last few months have only reinforced that decision. He’s already become a key figure in the future of the business and has fitted straight into the team ethos we value so highly. There are exciting times ahead, and I’m really pleased that Jake will be part of that journey with us.”
