Awards for Seamans in Suffolk Joint Consultative Committee

In May 2009 Seamans Building was acknowledged by the SAA as winner in the “Individual Trade (Joinery)” category, for work undertaken on the Refurbishment of Music Rooms at Culford School. The works involved stripping out previously installed partitions, doors, ceilings and flooring to realise and re-establish the splendour of the original listed building. Rob expertly repaired and replaced sections of wall panelling, flooring etc, undertaking repairs to doors and curtain poles, matching precisely the existing detail from within this grade 2 * listed building, directly under English Heritages and Listed buildings control.

At the same awards ceremony, George Priestman, who is employed within Seamans plumbing and mechanical services department, Homes 2 Office, was announced as winner of the Year 1 Plumbing Apprenticeship Award by the SJCC, having been nominated for the award by West Suffolk College.

These two awards maintain a long tradition, with Seamans Building featuring in the Craftsmanship, Individual Trades and Apprenticeship award winners on a regular basis.
