O.Seaman and Son was originally founded in 1912 by Octavius Seaman. Russell Seaman later succeeded his father in the company and was subsequently joined by Mike Haydon, who took over the running of the company in 1976, when Seamans Building became a limited company. Taking over the role from his father, Duncan Haydon became Managing Director in 2002 and still remains at the heart of the company today.

It is the strong sense of loyalty and the nurturing ethos and that makes Seamans Building a true ‘family firm’, with those family values extending across the workforce of over 60 people, who operate from the purpose built offices and yard at Thurston, near Bury St Edmunds.
